If you’re trying to woo a woman, you might want to pick one of these to include in your opener: 💁, 😋, 😛, or 😏 . They’re the ones that get the best response rates. You’d be better off skipping the ol' 🍆,. It's a real turn off first thing.

As for men, they responded best to these: 😏 , 😜, 😂, and 😌. While, no surprise, 💩 was a no-go.

It's certainly worth paying some attention to what you pick. It turns out people are a little more likely to reply to a message when you include an emoji -- women replied five percent more often and men replied eight percent more. But interestingly people only include an emoji in their opening message about 10 percent of the time.

It certainly can't hurt. And if you choose wisely, it might keep the object of your affection from turning into a 👻 .
